Our Setting on Coffs Coast:
The property sits on 7 acres of native gardens bordering an estuary on two sides, which forms part of the Solitary Islands Marine Park. The building consists of two self-contained residences with the owners living in one while the other is available for holiday rentals. A National Park neighbours the property with 6 km long Moonee Beach beyond it.
The Waterside Apartment is located 15 min drive north of the town centre, so your own transport is necessary. The closest supermarket, post office and other shops/services are less than 5 mins drive away as are the closest restaurants.
This apartment is particularly suitable for people wishing to 're-charge their batteries' in a unspoilt environment away from the hustle and bustle of town, but still within easy reach of its facilities. Due to a number of aspects including an unpatrolled beach and very close proximity to the estuary, it is not suitable for families with children who still require supervision around water.
The 900 metre walk to the secluded, long and untouched beach starts at the bridge that crosses the estuary teeming with a huge variety of fish. The estuary, beach and adjoining sea all form part of the diverse Solitary Islands Marine Park.
Bottlenose dolphins and migrating Humpback whales are regularly seen from the beach and adjoining headlands. The Marine Park was established to protect the fragile environment created by cool southern currents and warm northern ones, which meet here. The result is a unique marine life comprised of coldwater pelagic fish mingling with tropical ones in some of the most southern coral reefs.
If you see two other people on the beach, it’s a busy day!
The Apartment:
There are 3 bedrooms, two with a queen-sized bed and the master bedroom with a king-sized bed.
The apartment can be rented with one, two or all three bedrooms. The two smaller bedrooms have ample built-in cupboards and a leafy outlook with direct access to the gardens. The master bedroom has its own en-suite.
The lounge/dining area and the master bedroom have reverse-cycling air-conditioning/heating and all rooms have ceiling fans
The Aparment is attached to the main house, but has its own private entrance, courtyard with gas BBQ and outdoor setting.
The kitchenette is equipped for the cooking of simple meals and includes cookware, crockery, glassware and cutlery for 6 persons. There is a fridge/freezer, small baking oven with 2 hotplates above, microwave oven, kettle and toaster. In addition there is the gas BBQ in the courtyard.
