Comments[0] Albany Region

Albany Region

Albany region on WA’s South-West coast is also known as the Great Southern district which centres around historic Albany on King George Sound 417 km s-e of Perth.  Since grape growing began in 1967, the area has produced some excellent varieties particularly around Mount Barker. There are also a number of superb national parks including coastal William Bay, West Cape Howe and Torndirrup with its Blowholes, The Gap & Natural Bridge formed by the Great Southern Ocean. Additionally there is Porongorup and the spectacular Stirling NP. Apart from Albany, Mount Barker and Denmark are both important towns in the region.
