South East Queensland, incorporating the scenic Darling Downs, is a rapidly growing part of the state due to its close proximity to Brisbane, excellent climate and healthy economy. Apart from its coastal fringes, it is located mostly inland. This attractive region is home to the large bustling centres of Toowoomba and Ipswich and charming rural centres such as Dalby, Beaudesert, Kingaroy, Warwick, Miles, Chinchilla, Gatton.
Visitor Information Centres: Cnr James & Kitchener Sts, Toowoomba. Tel (07) 4639 3797 or 1800 331 155 and Warrego Hwy, Chinchilla. Tel (07) 4668 9564.
Parts of Brisbane, Toowoomba, Ipswich and others towns in SE Qld were devastated by floods in mid January, 2011. The resilient community is rebulding, but all help and donations are greatly welcomed. Please contact the Australian Red Cross for donations of any kind.
